Okay. So GET THIS! It’s raining, like right now, and the basement isn’t flooding!
It’s those little steps forward that make each new day worth it.

Text from the above flyer:
Three members of the Russian punk rock feminist collective known as “Pussy Riot” are currently in pre-trial detention, where they have been held since their arrest in March 2012. Maria Alekhina, Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, and Ekaterina Samusevich are facing serious criminal charges of “hooliganism” for their alleged participation in a “guerilla punk rock performance” at Christ the Savior Cathedral in Moscow.
On February 21, members of Pussy Riot entered the Cathedral with their faces masked by balaclavas and performed a calling on Virgin Mary to become a feminist and banish Vladimir Putin. This “punk rock prayer” also criticized the dedication and support shown to Putin by some representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Pussy Riot’s performance was one of many expressions of public protest at Putin’s imminent return to the Russian presidency – protests that, upon his successful return to power, the Russian leader has been quick to quash with draconian new policies around dissent and freedom of expression.
The three women could face up to seven years in prison if found guilty. Two of the detainees are the mothers of young children; Amnesty International considers them to be prisoners of conscience.
It is time to stand up for Pussy Riot, and raise your voice from Freedom of Expression in Russia.
Join Amnesty International USA, DC Artist Andrea Collins, and local musicians for a combination Rally & Punk Show, outside the Russian Embassy (on Wisconsin Avenue between Davis and Edmunds) on Friday, July 27 from 4:30-8 p.m.
From 4:30- 6 p.m. Amnesty International USA will lead protest chants directly outside of the embassy. We will then take the noise across the street where, from 6-8 p.m, local DC Punk Bands will play in tribute to Pussy Riot, and representatives from the Art and Human Rights community will speak about the case.
Lotus Fucker playing at Wasted Dream on July 19th, 2012. They brought the noise so hard our basement flooded.
Revitalized and aiming to post regularly. You can stay tuned here for the latest updates with our house space, promotion for shows, as well as promotion for other events relating to the local DIY music scene and also on goings in the local radical activist community.
Currently our house is busy battling the elements and clouds of green death spores quickly growing in our basement. Chaos Destroy, Lotus Fucker, and Globsters (KY) all played a great show tonight, but before The Elsinores (KY) could start playing we all had to grab all the equipment and head for the high ground, again, as the flood wasters made quick work of our pitiful barricade of sandbags and rushed itself in like putrid mud filled rapids, absolutely drowning the carpet, which was still soaked from Tuesday night’s flood.
We’re stripping the carpet this weekend, and power snaking the drain in the backyard, so hopefully this will never be a problem again. We still have to fully assess the damage it’s done to the house though. We’re also going to get someone to come investigate the basement/entire house for mold. Soon we’ll be able to start moving forward with house projects like painting and re-imagining the basement space, and establishing a zine library upstairs. We’re already taking steps to organize the internal structure of the house so things will be able to run much smoothly and efficiently.
We’re starting to get our act together…but first we need to get the water out of the basement.
Living in a punk house.
